I've happily used my L2 when travelling. Had to get the lighter L3 when it came out. I'm having trouble finding the right setting for french press. I started where the L2 was (1 full plus eight), but the cup was all wrong. I slowly wound it back, and am now at 1 full. Still not perfect.

What are you all using as a setting for FP?

While it becomes more of a brewing question as opposed to a grinder question, most people have found there really is no need for a coarser grind for french press brewing. Use the same grind as you would for a percolation brew, and utilize a bit of agitation. No need for a bloom either. French press is often an under-extracted brew method.

This saves you from having to adjust your grinder for one specific (non-espresso) brew method.
