No the L1-P works only with direct connection to the water.
Reiss is currently working on a new version of the L1 called L1-S.
There is more info that Reiss has posted previously on the Londinium forum.

I think Reiss canceled moving forward on producing the L1-S late last year.

Lever should equal simple, and simple means less maintenance costs in materials and time.
I like using my L1-p because of its silence and its ability to pull monster large shots. But in all reality the original L1 second gen, when it is plumbed in, would be hard to beat for the money, and it would be silent.
