We went with friends to the La Colombe flagship cafe for breakfast yesterday. I needed beans because my local supplier (Bodhi) didn't get any fresh Hairbender last week, so I checked LC' s shelves on the way out & found a Haitian Mare Blanche that seemed like a good bet for espresso. None of the staff had tried this, but all agreed it should be good.........and it is. In fact, it's great!

LC' s description of root beer and pepper is right on, with no fruit to speak of but a subtle dark chocolate character like 90% Ecuadorian in the middle. I'm getting big, thick mouth feel and gorgeous dark crema. And this series has roast dates, not the "best if used by....." on most LC bags. Try it!

Ordered some. Have yet to find a decent Haitian. Good elevation on this one.
