I just ordered the Espresso Sampler for the first time. I also ordered a PID for my Gaggia Classic that will be here on Monday. What are your favorite parameters for the Paradise espresso lines? Thank you!

Pulling Nuevo right now, 201 temp, pre-infusion 3 seconds and dwell 3 seconds, 18.5g dose in HQ21 basket, stop shot at 33 seconds or so with 30-35g extracted = very smooth and yummy shot, straight or in milk. Pretty forgiving blend, I messed with temp and dose and it didn't really care much.

Thank you for the reply! So I think that will be like a 215 setting on the PID for a Gaggia Classic since if I remember correctly the brew temp is ~14 degrees lower than the boiler temp. I did not get the PID model with pre-infusion, but can't you manually do it by turning the pump on for three seconds? I also believe I came across a post of how to add pre-infusion on the Auber PID without paying for the feature that I may look into doing sometime.

I like almost their fresh roasted beans. Just FRESH, FRESH AND VERY FRESH.

I don't think its necessary to pre-infuse with a vibratory pump as it takes over 5 seconds to get up to full pressure, especially on a classic. Therefore, I wouldn't worry too much about.Jared wrote:Thank you for the reply! It sounds like you got one of their kits? Otherwise i'd just recommend getting the PID controller with two alarms.

Yeah I caved in and got the one with the steam function. It was pricey, but the time and extra money sourcing the wires and connectors just wasn't worth it for me to want to deal with it. I am capable enough to do it, but didn't care to worry about it.

USPS surprised me and delivered the PID today. I got it installed and made me an iced latte. It was smoother than it has ever been before using some Red Bird Espresso.
