Gaggia Classic: Fixing stripped boiler screw thread...

Hi all, I'm new here
I recently fixed up a gaggia classic - I had to get a new boiler, as I believe the old on had gotten water in the element.
Now, while screwing on the steam valve, the threads inside the aluminium boiler have broken - The bolt pulled out with a spring of metal in its threads.
Now the boiler hisses slightly with just one screw holding the valve. I can only think of two solutions:
a) get a slightly longer screw and hoping there are threads in reach of the bottom of the screw-hole.
b) get a bolt one size up, and tap a new screw thread.
I'm not sure about the details of either solution - any ideas or recommendations?
Regards.

I went with a) longer screw on a couple spots on my old Baby. Held for 20 years!
I had a good supply of stainless metric cap head screws from my many bicycles; you might try your local bike shop if you can't find the right one.

Hmm, Thanks!
Does anyone know the ISO bolt type used on the gaggia classic steam valve?
Regards.
