$1600 seems like a lot of money for a Hottop versus spending the $2200 + import fees for a real LP powered roaster....

Is there really a market for a $1600 hot top and does it makes sense to spend that kind of money on the hot top vs an investment in a gas roaster for a serious enthusiast?

I think there is a market for it. Some home roasters may be intimidated by a gas roaster, may not have the space or regulations may not allow a gas roaster in their home. I would imagine that the upgrade kits are selling well too. I have a Hottop B2-K I'm on the fence about upgrading it or buying a Huky.

I was looking at the Hottop but may instead go the TJ-066 route and get something that should last for years and not be lacking in heating power!
