I went down to 200g and I can confirm your point that my roasts were less even. The extra mass helps tumble them them better.

My issue when I roasted at lower temperature however, is that even though the beans just cleared first crack, they appear much darker. I'm used to my friends roaster which is an induction drum, his city plus roasts turn this nice dark cinnamon color. And the aroma is unbelievable. I don't seem to get that great aroma with the gene café.
