I have a modified grinder with a Mazzer Robur cone. I am finding quite a bit of static cling, which, when not paying attention, steals all my fines and greatly affects my shot. I know this is a common problem, what I am less aware of is what are the solutions? What should I try? Is this just something to live with?

A typical response to this is the so called "RDT".

Ross Droplet Technique-Eliminating Grinder Static

There is the usual Internet discussion on it. Read thoroughly!

If you're not single dosing, you're in the weeds unfortunately.

Baratza also recommends a small squirt of water. I personally use a mesh ladle and give it a couple shakes over almost boiling water but not a full rolling boil, or i leave a large cup under my steam wand and jiggle the beans in the ladle over the steam coming up from the cup for about five seconds-sometimes directly under the steam wand was too wet. Keeps my retention at zero though a very different grinder.

If your not single dosing maybe there could be someway to keep some humidifier near your equipment just to keep the general humidity up near the grinder without getting it actually wet?
