Supreme Bean had five or six espresso blends on tap at their event this Sunday. Bella Luna, Abruzzo, and Norte are old friends; but my favorite that day was their new Dolce Terra organic blend. If this blend is a sign of the times, the days when organic coffee was only for the finicky conscienced are over; and the days of preferring them automatically for taste (if one has no further info), as one does organic veggies now, are here.

Dolce Terra is a fruit bomb, more precisely, a sweet cherry bomb that would warm Parker's heart. A bit of maybe chocolate, maybe vanilla, maybe caramel underneath. And that's it. Phil Hand describes it as an accessible beginners' blend; in that case, color me beginner.

It was my favorite also; if you haven't tried it yet, I suggest ordering some as soon as the Supreme Bean direct to consumer website is up, which should be soon.

Hats off to SB again, for such a wonderful event on Sunday!

Just happened to see this in "Related Topics" which of course it bore no relation. :P

Supreme Bean Bela Luna, Dolce Terra, Original Organic, Abruzzo and del Norte are all lighter roasts that are easy to pull and most enjoyable.

The Supreme Bean will put the roasts up in sealed 1/2pound bags for easy storage.

Have you tried "Ring of Fire," Ian? I just noticed it on the offering list and haven't tried it yet.

It should be mentioned that many (all?) of these blends have had significant changes since the original posts on this thread. This is due to changes in crops and crop availability that affect all roasters, especially artisan roasters dealing in small lots. "Abruzzo," for one, used to be their mild "entry-level" blend and is now much more interesting.

I included some in last week's order and will be sampling this coming week.

EDIT : Ring of Fire update

You're spot on regarding Abruzzo.
