Intermittent Rotary Pump Issue
I feel like this is going to be frustrating to track down - this morning it worked fine for morning cappas. Edit: for anyone following along this thread seems to be an identical problem: "Izzo Alex Duetto pump issues?" And Clive has a nice illustrated guide: {link} I'm guessing it is that O-ring

Intermittent Rotary Pump Issue
Came home from work, turned it on, and the pump fired fine. The only difference I can think of is this AM I let the machine heat up before trying the pump while tonight the machine was still cold. That and the timing of when the water reservoir was refilled (first thing this AM) are the only differe...

Intermittent Rotary Pump Issue
So I have an Izzo Alex II that came to me in rough shape. I've gotten it up and running and pulled some good shots on it. This is my first experience with a rotary pump. When I first received the machine nothing was pumping, no pressure. Disassembled it all and the pump turned find with my hand. Put

Back in the swing of things... Izzo Alex II
Thanks for the input Peter. I've followed coffee down the more tea-like light roast/floral/light fruits rabbit hole and come out on the other side with my personal preference trending back towards the darker chocolate/caramel/dark fruits flavors. But, being completely honest, I do not believe my esp...

Back in the swing of things... Izzo Alex II
Thanks Jim - I'm already considering a dedicated espresso grinder since the Mazzer is still used for our daily pot. The prices on well-reviewed grinders has really dropped since I was last poking around. The Sette 270 at near-Rocky prices seems to good to be true based on the reviews. But I'll be ho...

Back in the swing of things... Izzo Alex II
So (according to my post history) it's been almost a decade since I rebuilt(ish) my Olympia Cremina. That seems about right since my daughter was born ~8 years ago and I ended up selling the Cremina while unemployed to fund a video camera (well worth it to get those first steps). Life was espresso-l...

Olympia Cremina - general repaint questions and what color paint
So my old Cremina has a ton of war wounds now (we just moved across country and it started with a few chips in the paint) and the wife has said it needs a new paint job. It is currently the Harvest Brown, but she (and I) would prefer the Firebird Red. A couple of questions to those

Solution to an overheating Cremina (or, lazy and forgetful Cremina owner)
That sounds like a good idea for now. The problem with timers is that on the weekends (when I typically pull shots) I already have multiple timers going and have enough trouble keeping track of them. Hence the plan to add a buzzer in. Still don't see why it is 'ridiculous' (overkill yes, ridiculous ...

Solution to an overheating Cremina (or, lazy and forgetful Cremina owner)
Wow, what happened to the helpful, DIY-overkill HB that I was used to? I am thinking that it will be a pretty easy thing to do, and will probably try it out. I will post if/when I get around to it. Just thought I would share my experience (sorry if I offended the Olympia purists around here)

Solution to an overheating Cremina (or, lazy and forgetful Cremina owner)
Okay, so having done this for the umpteenth time, I am looking for some ideas. My problem is that every time I turn on my Cremina, I walk away to let it warm up. Some time later after finding some distraction (often an hour or so), I remember that I was warming up the espresso machine...which is now
