Actually it may very well be the one from Sweet Maria's. the guy I bought the AP from was also roasting SM beans. So it would all make sense

I got the tamper when I purchased my used Andreja Premium. The guy who sold it to me bought it from Chris Coffee, so I presume the tamper is also from CC and it's probably the reguar Stainless steel tamper he sells on his site, or used to sell. But I can't be sure Here's the

Thanks for the idea about the kitchen thermometer, very interesting idea I found out about the steam knob trick for pre-infusion on the yahoo groups as well and will probably try that. And thanks pechelman for the story, very encouraging The machine is home now and can't wait to get back from work
