Update... Been away trying to improve my techniques.. After adjusting the OPV on my classic i found it was just so much easier getting good shots and good extractions for the bottomless PF. Even with the double im now very happy. I think the single best advice for classic owners is get the pressure ...

Well since getting the Naked PF ive been trying to hone my technique.... lol Im doing really well having 22g of beans to make a triple in the triple basket and find while grinding into the basket i WDT half the ground beans carry on grinding and do it again. Then a single but very firm tamp. Hardly

Im getting pretty decent shots with decent beans most of the time with both BFP and reg PF. But like anything you tend to take a few steps back when trying something new. Its largely down to my distribution and tamp that the BPF shot isnt great but it still tastes fine. Im just trying to find the best

I found it harder to get a decent looking extraction with my double basket than i did from my triple. using around 16g of beans and aiming for 25 secs.... I do think i need lots more practice, and with a bean i know well. Cheers PaulN

It's amazing all the common knowledge stuff you guys knows that us newbies pick up lol If using the blind filter to work out the the flow rate gives a good indication of the bar then it sounds a plan. Wonder if there's somewhere in the uk I could rent or borrow a pressure gauge from?

Its suggested that the machine may be way off 8-9 bars causing the flow rate to be too great. Now without a pressure gauge connected to the group head its recommended to run the blind

Im plucking up the courage to video some naked portafilter action. Ive been getting on well with the triple basket for both doubles and triples and will start to try my double basket to see the difference. Im near the end of my current beans so may jump back onto the spouted PF just to get comfortab...
