Gaggia Lever Spring, Grease Recommendations
for the rack and pinion i use high temperature brake grease. that part is not getting in contact with the brew water or anything else. i'm not worried about contamination. the machine grease smell dissipates after a a week or two

regarding the spring: yes, springs will definitely settle.check the number of windings, diameter and spring wire diameter. if it's similar it's close enough. the spangna group has a different geometry though. sometimes parts supplier put spangna parts and Italian parts together by ignorance
