Why Reduce Inlet Water Pressure?

Well, I am all for that. I am, however not in a good location, I think. I am in Barstow, CA (or close enough) in the Mojave Desert. Any recommendations for an reasonable-cost fresh source that either ships or is not in LaLa land?

Why Reduce Inlet Water Pressure?

Thanks. The grind was too coarse. I went (much) finer, now takes too long (40secs), but I figured it would be easier to go coarser in small increments. Not using great coffee:) Costco. But is a great price. But we seem to have digressed from the original topic. So, to go back the original question, ...

Why Reduce Inlet Water Pressure?

Update: Got the regulator in, and the machine works as intended. Well, somewhat as intended. Now I have to figure out the grind and the tamp, but am making stuff that looks and tastes like espresso. Funny thing, this LaSpaziale uses a 53.2mm basket, and the 53mm tampers don't quite fit. I assume lot...

Why Reduce Inlet Water Pressure?

Wow, that's a lot of information. Thanks. The only regulators I can get locally are whole-house w/1" inlets for $60 to $75. And with reducers and such, well, it gets pricey. Even the 1/2" one pointed out needs the reducers & such... Plus, this is actually for a different location, so it is a tempora...

Why Reduce Inlet Water Pressure?

Apart from the original question, if I fill my boiler (to the correct level), will the machine work with no inlet pressure? I am waiting on a regulator would really like to know it the machine actually works:( Re: Brass regulator, where can I get one? I looked and all I could find were 1" and 3/4" d...

Why Reduce Inlet Water Pressure?

Sean, I ordered this from Chris Coffee: {link} Won't have it till the middle of next week, will come back & tell you how it went. Note that is has "John Guest" fittings. When I plumbed into my water supply, I originally used "normal" fittings. Well, I redid it using these fittings and it took longer...

Why Reduce Inlet Water Pressure?

Didn't realize it until after the fact... Found comments here and there regarding inlet pressure needing to be reduced, found instructions for other machines saying to reduce to a max of 5bar (75psi?), and I know my water pressure is above that. OK, I have a regulator, filters, & fittings on order. ...

Why Reduce Inlet Water Pressure?

I originally hooked up my new La Spaziale with no regulator, 80psi. I have a regulator on order, but won't get it till next week. I read that the pressure input should be 25-60 psi, but do not understand why. Will I hurt the machine or pump by connecting it this way for a short time, or is this a

Newbie broke his espresso machine, no water from group

OK, got the machine back. There was "gunk" blocking the flowmeter and the pump output line. I surmise that from sitting unused for a long period of time? In any case, it was a cheap and quick fix. Nothing like I had expected.... I originally hooked up my new LaSpaziale with no regulator, 80psi. Coul...
