Latte (cappuccino) art, had to share
Full disclosure: they don't all look like this. {image} This was dropped into a 28g shot, in a 5.2 oz Ancap cappuccino cup. With this size cup, there's just not much room to play around. Jack

Good coffee on a budget
I've bought from "Red Bird Coffee" for years. They've had pretty good press here. I typically buy their "Mountain High Espresso" blend, but whenever the "honey process" Costa Rica (single origin) coffee is available, I get some of that, too. If you buy 5 lbs. or more, they ship free, and it usually ...

Buying my first espresso machine
If you hang around here long, you'll see this over and over: The grinder selection is far more important than the machine. What do you plan to grind with? Jack

If I'm pouring milk into a 5 oz cup on top of a double shot, that's a cappuccino. If I use a larger cup, that's more milk (more "latte"), so it is a cafe latte. Here's this morning'...

Is there a gold standard grinder that doses accurately by weight?
Well said. In the quest for the ultimate grinder, we seem to forget the use-case differences between home and shop. The "best" shop grinder may be nothing like the best" home grinder. Jack

Baratza Forté Single Dose Hopper Mod
I've thought about it quite a bit -- but that was before I decided to stick with single dosing. When you're single dosing, what good would a scale be? It stops grinding "automatically" when it runs out of beans. Jack

Baratza Forté Single Dose Hopper Mod
If you're asking if it grinds the same dose in the same time, at the same grind level -- I doubt it. It would take some controlled testing to answer that question. But since I'm single dosing, I have to grind by time. I just set the grinder for longer than it normally takes. At 13.5 seconds, it runs
