Minneapolis coffee scene: getting better all the time
It doesn't have any UL "sanitary" and no NSF certification, which Hennepin County and guessing most if not all other counties in Minnesota require. They MAY have been able to get away with using a machine lacking relevant sanitary certifications if it were grandfathered in, but that was not the case...

Bob- Hey thanks for the kind words... Let me know what you think of Black Sheep, the baristas that have waited on me there have solid customer service skills, plus I have enjoyed their espresso. I posted "this" yesterday. I was just putzin' around and thought it'd be a fantastic story to share, and ...

Minneapolis coffee scene: getting better all the time
Well, I am working on strengthening my home set up. I sold my Pavoni and rocky and am saving up some dough to get a better set up. I'll let ya know when that happens . As far as retail outfits [WARNING EXTREME BIAS] I am quite unimpressed by many shops here in the TC. I have had good

Minneapolis coffee scene: getting better all the time
I am glad you mentioned Kopplins and Black Sheep b/c they are the 2 shops that have lead the pack, of course they have been around longer (with the exception of Spyhouse and Anodyne, both were fashionably late to the third wave party). The other shops that have since followed their lead have been al...

Minneapolis coffee scene: getting better all the time
Just to chime in here on the MPLS coffee scene... As a reference, I've lived and worked in the coffee business here in the TC for the last 10 years. Strongly Disagree!! I have been to nearly every coffee bar or shop in Mpls/St. Paul area (many, multiple times) and all the bars that have opened up si...

Faema E61 Legend 1 group on eBay - Possible Rebuild project??
From the top view pic looking down at the boiler inside, looks like it needs a bit of work. It would be a project for sure but from what I can see the exterior of the machine looks pretty nice considering. I am not surprised it's still at about $2,000, I bet there are a few takers hanging in the
