Mahlkonig Pro M locked up...
FYI, I'm another who tried and tried but couldn't get the $1300 Pro-M (either model) to work as well as his $300 Rocky. Rocky is back on the counter and the Pro-M(s) are back at Mahlkonig. It's too bad because when they did work, they made a very nice grind. They just couldn't do it consistently or

I'm giving up on Mahlkonig Pro-M
There are several threads here about the Mahlkonig Pro-M, both the All-Around and the Espresso version. A common theme is the inability to get it to grind fine enough for espresso and chute clogging and the general lack of value for the $1300 investment. Add me to the list. I initially bought a Pro-...

Help with new Mahlkonig ProM Espresso
Sounds like his 9/12 grinder is calibrated similar to my 6/12 grinder. My shots are dialed in at 7.5. One thing that is going on with mine, however, is shot-shot weight variability which I can't quite figure out. When I first got the grinder, it seemed really consistent shot-shot. Now I'm getting Ba...

Help with new Mahlkonig ProM Espresso
Just FYI, I've had my ProM Espresso for a few weeks now (manufacture date 6/12) and if there is a problem with the grind, it's that it's TOO fine. But not really. I am currently grinding a dry roast (Roman Espresso from Blue Bottle) and find that I have to set the grinder on about 7.5 (it goes

Are there espresso machines between E61 and La Marzocco GS/3?
My understanding of the GS/3's pre-infusion (non paddle version) is that it works the same as the VII, namely using water line pressure. I have my inlet water set to 2bar and a four second pre-infusion. How is the GS/3 different? I understand that other E61 group head machines have a pre-infusion ch...

Are there espresso machines between E61 and La Marzocco GS/3?
As the owner of a La Spaziale S1, I'm trying to understand why it isn't the machine between what you have and a GS/3 -- particularly in its "Dream" (PID) incarnation? The S1 has: 1. Dual boilers 2. Progressive Pre-Infusion (line-pressure or preinfusion chamber) 3. 110V operation (15A or 20A) 4. Plum...

Help with new Mahlkonig ProM Espresso
Marshall, Thanks for the interior pictures of the grind mechanism. It looks entirely conventional once you get it apart. I took apart my first Pro-M All-Around because it arrived with the top cover (that carries the bean hopper) popped out of the metal case. I saw the grind chamber and it looked lik...
