OCD - ONA Coffee Distributor (tool for coffee in the portafilter basket)

Not applauding intellectual property infringement, but at the same time it is not surprising this happens when 90% of the products cost is for the intellectual property rather than manufacturing cost

Canadian Roasters: Canucks...What are you drinking?

When I have something nice like the Pig Iron Kochere, I sometimes wonder if I pick on Toronto roasters too much. Yesterday I had a shot of Pig Iron Ethiopian Guji. It was smoky and bitter. Reaffirmed my belief about the consistency of their quality

Canadian Roasters: Canucks...What are you drinking?

Will be picking up the pen soon, but mostly writing about Ottawa for now ... Great to hear that a place has picked up Stumptown in Toronto... curious to visit it ... although much more excited about Boxcar Social Propellor ... if anybody followed my twitter, I was rather frank about what I tasted (e...

Canadian Roasters: Canucks...What are you drinking?

As a former Toronto guy, I would trust Tony. I have also heard many good comments about Boxcar. As a fairly new Ottawa guy, my go to place is Ministry of Coffee (Elgin and now Parkdale Market locations). They rotate their roaster weekly - Heart, P&S, Bows and Arrows, George Howell, and 49th Parallel.

Toronto Coffee Tasting Event

Totally agree with Steve that this is awesome coffee. Just got through some bags myself which I enjoyed quite a lot. The Guatemalan based Red Brick was very nice, and the Kenyan peaberry was a nice treat on my V60

Canadians - Name Your 3 Top Roasters

Top 3 in order for me at the moment are: 49th Parallel, Phil and Sebastian, and Transcend. I was really impressed with the Alberta Roasters as I have recently featured them on my blog. I am also surprised that nobody has mentioned Bows and Arrows as I was fairly impressed. Curious to try Anchored as...

Toronto Area H-Bers

I started with a Silvia/Rocky combo about 7 years ago, and I am now with a Rocket Giotto / K10 Fresh since last year. Only started with the blog (blog.coffeestork.com) two years ago, but it's been great fun meeting people and learning more about coffee. I used to be afraid of acidity, now I pretty m...

Rocket Giotto Spurting Water Out Valve

Again a big thanks to everyone for their time in offering some really great help. Just to round out the story in case anyone was curious. After giving the water probe a good sanding, I still had water spurting issues, so I took it to IDrinkCoffee in Milton. They were very helpful and fixed my machin...
