Troubles with La Marzocco GS3 first espresso of the day
You can also check that the grouphead didn't accumulate any air over the time. This will cause havoc with the temperature stability. -- Danny

Send my portafilter away or order a new bottomless?
Bottomless portafilters have some mess associated with their use and there may always be some stray squirts (especially at the beginning), so keeping your portafilter at hand is good and useful for times that you entertain or need to make a lot of drinks. ยข2 -- Danny

Minimal amount of milk for latte art?
Thanks, It really makes sense that smaller steam output, by means of number of holes or hole size, will work fine with a big boiler. So I checked it out and bingo! First try great velvet milk and nice art (see below). Since my drink range is from a double espresso to one latte, it seems reasonable to

Minimal amount of milk for latte art?
Sorry I didn't put things into perspective. The questions are more general for understanding the difference between a consumer machine (i.e. Expobar at 1.3 bar with two small holes) and a pro machine (i.e. GS/3 at 1.5 - 2.0 bar with 3 big holes). Titan Grinder Project: Does burr heating coffee grounds negatively affect taste of espresso?
Hi, I want to take a different approach to particle magnitude and that is their mass. The particles from the bigger distribution group are 400-500 microns across. Also since they are very small the ratio between their mass and their circumference is very small or let's put it the other way around, t...

What's your day job?
Nice thread. I'll keep it simple. Software developer for over 20 years in various companies and areas. I started out writing software for process control (e.g. PID) and now I write testware (software used to test software products). In the future I'll be a roaster (if I can only close on a name for ...

Titan Grinder Project
It is worthwhile . For home use the hopper, for example, is just too big and replacing it with a short one is almost a must. So users will be looking for insight on this mod and any other that may be reasonable for a home user; including how it affects the bottom line ... the taste
