Review of the Decent Espresso DE1+PRO

I love mine as well. The machine is the real deal. I was also considering waiting for the hardware updates but I went for it and now I don't think the updates are critical. I am pretty certain the lower headspace is not going to solve soggy pucks, and as much as i thought I'd hate tablet controls th...

Review of the Decent Espresso DE1+PRO

I've read that the DE1+ is not very forgiving of puck prep. This seems counter intuitive. Many of the features the machine provides should make it very forgiving. It allows variable preinfusion, and there is pressure/flow control which is said to even heal channels when they form. What has people's ...

Decent Espresso DE1 temperature

This is interesting. You are doing this with settings on the Decent or do you mean adjusting grind based on the graphs? I'd like to know which settings on the DE are useful for aging beans

Monolith portafilter forks and unbalanced portafilters

Just started using my new monolith flat with my Bezzera Strega and have already had a few accidents where the vibrations from grinding back the portafilter out of the forks and my counter gets a nice coating of coffee grounds. The tabs on the Strega PF are offset such that when they are aligned in t...

Owner experience with Bezzera Strega

There was no visible damage but new seals went in today and it's all good. It's been 3 months without my machine and now I finally got to use my new monolith flat for espresso!

Owner experience with Bezzera Strega

Thanks Jim. I tried lube but there was no change. Bubbling occurs after the vacuum breaker seals, but I believe it's the sound of water filling the area above the piston which then leaks out

Owner experience with Bezzera Strega

Before I start buying parts, can someone confirm the fix for water leaking out of the hole on the top rear of the group above the boiler connection is a set of piston gaskets? Machine was off for 2 months and now having this problem when put back into service. Lots of water coming out when I use the...

Decent Espresso Machines Shipping

Any other thoughts from those of you with machines? I don't have any specific questions, just dying to read more. What are people's thoughts on the vibe pump? I was thinking for my next machine I wanted to get beyond noisy and unreliable vibe pumps, so to have one in a premium machine kinda feels wr...

User Experience: Kafatek Monolith Flat MAX

I did email after my last post. Sounds like the Max is far enough out still that there's no point trying to swap preorders. I got no indication what his thoughts are on the comparison between the two. Also asked about the SSP burr option for my M Flat preorder and he's still not happy enough with th...
