Custom Wood for your Espresso Machine

dave - glad to see your still turning wood! I have some of your earlier work that I absolutely cherish and still looks fantastic on my machine. I can post some pics of the wood and how it's held up if there is interest

Izzo Alex Duetto II major loss of steaming power

sorry I haven't replied. I've been trying to fix this machine and have run out of luck. I've contacted another seller that actually repairs (and sells the AD) and he will be taking it in next week. And he is someone I trust completely. I agree with the sentiment about opening up the machine and being

Izzo Alex Duetto II major loss of steaming power

Long time since I've posted here, coffee has taken a backseat to life. Anywho, I'm having major issues with my Izzo Alex Duetto steam boiler from 2010 (purchased new). Roughly 1,5 years ago the original boiler cracked in the welding up top where the valve fittings are. I contacted the supplier and t...

How to use Sproline tips on Izzo Alex Duetto II = Perfect Microfoam

Hmm, I've really been absent from the forum for a long time. I'm still running all original parts on my Duetto II and I think I have one of the early EU versions after the II was released. I debated for a long time about getting a no-burn wand but after speaking to Bella Barrista several times I

Different crema with naked portafilter - pictures

Hmm - I wonder if I've been doing something wrong then for the last 2 years. I've never had a shot that was 80-90% crema from my bottomless PF. My dosage has been between 18-19g (on a scale) with a VST double basket (since they came out) and the coffee itself is usually within 1-2weeks of

Cappuccino cups (5oz)

I've been using these cups for almost a year now and they get a ton of use. I probably make 5 cappas a day and then on the weekends with guests always dropping in I'll double that if not triple. My only complaint is I have only 4!! The Orphan cups are on my Christmas list since

Izzo Alex Duetto - Rust on a 1 year old machine? (pictures)

Thanks Chris for sharing that information. I've seen 30 yr old machines with no rust so it was a surprise that mine started to rust under a years time. I had assumed that the coating on the inside panels was either poorly done or that it was missed , but composition has a major role as well.

Izzo Alex Duetto - Rust on a 1 year old machine? (pictures)

I've finally gotten an update with Izzo - they are replacing the panel. When I get it I'll post pictures.

Izzo Alex Duetto - Rust on a 1 year old machine? (pictures)

Are you recommending that I use bronze wool to "clean" the rust that is on a 1 year old machine? I ahve been in contact with the vendor and they have been "working" on this issue with Izzo for severla months now - but there has been no progress. It's a little hard to accept that a
