La Marzocco GS3: New Rules

.....and I would keep thinking. There is a wait list and one just happens to pop up across town? I am in Australia but this does not read well. Are they testing the market for price? Where did this machine come from? Who is the dealer? Do they have a good reputation? You wouldn't

La Marzocco GS3: New Rules

My understanding the price in Australia for the GS3 remains $AUD6700. I would surmise Franke are responsible for the price tag in the States. It will be interesting to see how it all goes. I understand there is a fix for the steam arm on the GS3 but I am yet to see it

What is the Porsche of the wide world of espresso grinders?

I'll also add my bit for the Versalab. I went from the Cimbali Cadet to it and the taste difference was substantial. My sister is looking at getting a machine just so she can have a Versalab. My husband fell for it (before the taste knocked his socks off) because he loves how it has it

First long-term La Marzocco GS3 consumer review

I have just read the article referred to. I would agree with most of it. I'm not sure of the need to program a buttom to a short pulse and then use the continuous pour to finish it as you can stop a pour on the programmable buttons with preinfusion at any stage that suits.

Weigh Coffee Before or After Grinding?

Weigh Coffee Before or After Grinding?

After Ken's thread on down dosing I also started weighing after grinding and has found it great for improving consistency. Has anyone who has been weighing their doses for a while tried dosing "free hand" again to see if they can produce the same consistency without the scales now? Rosemary

How did you learn to make quality espresso?

I agree. I found this site because of a machine in need of a lot of TLC. Even though I'd had a machine for 10 or 12 yrs I had my eyes opened reading the coffee sites. I also think most people in the industry whether your local barista, roaster or technician are very generous sharing their

La Marzocco GS3 Disappointment

Thank you both for your very clear explanations and the link to the pictures. That all makes very good sense. As it is under warranty I'd best not pull it apart myself. I spoke to Allpress this morning and they are going to see if they have a machine that they can now replace it with.

La Marzocco GS3 Disappointment

Hi Andy Any idea where the check valve may be? I presume there is one for each boiler? Is there also one with the pump? Thanks Rosemary
