Repair Poly Tubing Between OPV and HX on Expobar Lever?

Brilliant. Thanks much. I didn't even know about the downloads part of the website. The tubing must have been replaced before I bought the machine used because it was just polypropylene tubing at that time. Makes sense why I keep having to replace it. I kept thinking it was strange that the tube

Repair Poly Tubing Between OPV and HX on Expobar Lever?

I've been getting pinholes in the polyethylene 1/4 inch tubing that runs from the pump/OPV then into the HX. This is the brew side of the system. The machine came to me with this line broken and I've replaced it three times now over a period of years. The specs on the tubing are 120psi which is

Expobar Brewtus II Pressure Gauge Replacement

I had a similar problem with a gauge on my Office Leva and I ended up herding cats for 6 weeks before I just got out the torch, solder and flux and fixed it. With that said, if you haven't called Whole Latte Love yet I'd check with them. Call them though. When I tried to get

Expobar Brewtus IV Early Thoughts

In response to how I keep the boiler switch turned on without a water reservoir in the machine....I put a rock where the reservoir used to be. To be honest I have run out of water before but it always happens when I'm pulling shots and I stop the whole production and refill the tank. Not a big

Expobar Brewtus IV Early Thoughts

I got tired of the refill routine on my Office Lever long ago and just drilled a hole in the back edge of the cup warmer. I bought a longer length of tubing from Chris Coffee and I keep the reservoir behind the machine on the counter. I fill the reservoir every morning and only have to reach

List of multiroaster coffee joints

Wow, just stumbled across this thread. The more I read it the more I'm mystified as to why we only have one (that I know of) multi-roaster cafe in Boulder. Amante Coffee has a roatating 4th grinder selection. Not a huge fan of their coffee though and I don't think they are really doing their rotatin...

Mazzer Super Jolly refurb: paint/polish keeping the stickers?

Depending on how steady your hands are you can "paint" the stickers with Vaseline or other off brand petroleum goopy stuff. Paint doesn't stick to it and after everything is dry you wipe it clean. Sometimes works better than masking. Give it a try on a piece of scrap metal and see what you think

Motorize the Orphan Espresso Pharos Grinder?

You should talk to the Xtracycle folks. They have a blender that attaches to the bike for mobile drink mixing. Put a pedal powered grinder and a lever machine on the back

Is there a barista's favorite brand or type of milk?

I use Organic Valley whole milk and I've no complaints about it. I'd agree with getting the freshest you can though

Moving away from Espresso Blends...

I'd recommend chatting with the roasters a bit about it. I've tried various CC single origins that were on the lighter side and had OK luck. I've also messed with Ozo's 2012 at home and never been able to reproduce what they do with it at their cafe. With that said, if you can figure out the 2112
