San Francisco Peninsula Roast Together September 9

Hi all, I'm moving to the Bay Area the first week of September, and I'd like to get plugged into the coffee scene there. Is there an email list I can get on for events such as this?

Counter Culture Coffee Subscriptions?

I'm also in Nashville. I order from CCC during the weekend and get my coffee on Wednesday. I usually order a couple bags at a time and freeze all but one. As someone mentioned earlier, Dose on Murphy Road carries CCC coffee and gets new shipments about every 2 weeks. If you time it right, you

Rancilio Z9 AT Rebuild

I've pulled some shots on it, but I mainly use my other machine. The power switch on my Rancilio is right above the pressure gauge. You can see the piece of silver metal that it mounts to in my most recent picture

Faema C85/1 expected recovery? Element ohms window?

The 15 min to start cycling sounds normal, but keep in mind that the machine will not be fully heated up for 45 min to an hour. That extra time is required for the temp of the group and other components to stabilize. As far as trouble shooting, I would buy a pressure gauge and make sure that

Faema C85/1 expected recovery? Element ohms window?

Still doesn't sound normal. If the pressure in the boiler were really 1 bar and half the boiler were steam at that pressure, it would take a lot longer for the steam to run out even with the valve completely open. For reference, I usually open the valve completely while I steam, and there's no probl...

Faema C85/1 expected recovery? Element ohms window?

That's definitely not normal. You should have much more steam than that regardless of whether the elements comes on. I would guess that your boiler is either too full or your pressure gauge is not working properly. You also might want to look at the Faema Compact/C85 user group here: {link}

Counter Culture Cinco de Junio (NIC) SOE

I just got a bag of the Cinco de Junio that was roasted 2 days ago. So far I'm liking the shots with 18g dose and about 24g extraction. It's very sweet and fruity, but still tastes a little fresh. I'll update later after it's had some rest

Question on HX temperature profile

1. The flush has nothing to do with the brew pressure. The brew pressure is adjusted at the OPV or bypass on a rotary pump. Perhaps you meant brew temperature though. In that case, yes, the flush volume does affect the brew temperature. Whether the grouphead heats or cools the water depends on your ...
