Bezzera Family Lever
Update on Portafilters for the Bezzera. Summary: RP naked PF not a cinch. I finally had some time to really look: After reading Kursiv's posts, I really checked it out carefully. In order for me to use the Richard Penny naked portafilter on the Bezzera family, I really do have to get it in

Bezzera Family Lever
More on portafilters. Just went in and double-ckecked. The Bezzera pf LOOKS a bit like a MCAL pf, but I cannot use my Bezzera pf in my MCAL nor vice-versa (but my RP pf does work on both. Go figure.) FWIW, I rarely use the MCAL since getting the Bezzera -- the Bezzera is that much

Bezzera Family Lever
Chiming in: My RP bottomless portafilter works with my Bezzera Family -- If I recall correctly, I may have had to switch baskets (to one with slightly less of a lip) to get the handle to move far enough to the right to get it out of the way of the lever. Pretty sure of this because the

49mm La Pavoni Portafilter Dimensions
Gary: Good catch! I had forgotten about this issue. I have a frightening large number of 49mm baskets, but only one double basket will work with the RP on my Pavoni. The rest will not lock in (too tall at the lip, I assume). Alas, I cannot remember exactly where that basket is from, but

49mm La Pavoni Portafilter Dimensions
I am playing with a conti comocafe (thanks to Paul the Roaster!) that lacks its own proper portafilter. I was trying to see what portafilters might fit the comocafe, and so took measurements of various portafilters to see which might be adaptable (the comocafe pf has three tabs rather than the usual...

Elektra Microcasa a Leva, coffee + grams + tamp?
That's what I had thought until I read this from the thread Owner Experience with Bezzera Strega: I think that as the spring contracts & expands it necessarily rotates a bit. In an older machine, the surfaces against which it is rotating can become a bit rough, as can the ends of the spring, leading...

Elektra Microcasa a Leva, coffee + grams + tamp?
I had an extremely similar grunty jerky handle issue with a conti comocafe that I have been playing with. It also had newish gaskets, and simple lubing didn't help. I took it apart and 1) really cleaned out the inside of the piston, including sanding it a bit with fine sandpaper as if felt a bit rou...

Help with a Conti Comocafe portafilter
I recently acquired (thanks, Paul the Roaster!) a mark 2 Conti Comocafe (the second model with the elevated lever, rather than the first model with the lever attached to the base). Paul had done a beautiful job rebuilding it, and I have been playing around with temp and dosing and tamp, and although...

EBay Olympia Cremina record?
Bid cancellation: Long story short: I live near the US/Canada border. I sometimes have big stuff shipped to a shipping place on the US side of the border to save on shipping and customs brokerage. Ebay changed its policy so you cannot have an alternate address in another country. So I opened a secon...
