Should I get a Versalab M3?
Nope, this is belt slippage. The drive pulley spins, the belt doesn't move at all. I can restart the belt by firmly nudging the driven pulley in the direction of travel

Should I get a Versalab M3?
I guess it depends on what you expect. I've had mine for 6 years, and for the past 4 the belt has pretty consistently slipped on the drive pulley. I keep the top end & belt clean & have replaced the pulley twice (paid upgrades) and replaced the belt several times, and have given up on working with t...

How old is the machine? If there's a fan in the electronics box you can replace the relay with a new ssr & heatsink- kit available from Synesso inexpensively. They've also changed the brew valves they use- if you haven't call the factory for suggested changes based on the age of the machine. Let me ...

Isomac TEA vs. TEA II
I sold my Tea a couple of years ago for $500, with new gaskets, pressurestat, pressure gauges, & 3 pf's. I wouldn't suggest plumbing one in- I had a float valve in mine & one day it overheated & flooded my kitchen. That's when I quit the Tea & bought a commercial quality, ul rated machine

Single Group Slayer
I asked when I visited the factory, Eric said "no." He mentioned that he was thinking of making a single group home machine, but it would be different from the Slayer (and different from the shiny box home machines you typically see.)

Want to test plumbed commercial espresso machine at home
Are you sure its 110 V power? On most rotary pump machines you can drop the supply line for the pump into a full bottle of filtered water & drop the drain line into a bucket. You'll need to adjust the pressure bypass screw on the pump to make up for the lack of mains pressure, and you

Espresso in Austin?
Cool, I'll check out Medici for sure (grew up on the north side, my family's still all there.) I look forward to checking out Frank as well. I always get nervous about having coffee when I leave Portland- good to hear that some good things are happening in Austin
