To plumb or not to plumb, THAT is the question!

Just adding a data point. I have been plumbed in for 10 years and can't imagine going back. I plumb in from the RO line. I do not plumb the drain. By the way, rather than drill through the counter, I went through the wall behind the backsplash. I used some pvc pipe to make

La Marzocco vs la Spaziale - maintenance and failures

I had a La Spaz for years. Just three things went wrong: Twice I needed to replace the brew tank temperature assembly. Not hard, but takes a little disassembly. The third thing: My wife decided to use the top to soften butter for cookies . . . then fell asleep

DE1 vs GS3

That was an interesting video, and something I wish I could do at home. I made the same type of decision about 5 years ago and went with the Decent. Normally I have the chance to compare or test drive my purchases, but espresso machines are a bit of a leap of faith. For home use, the

Decent vs La Marzocco Linea Micra (or Mini)

One added plus for the Decent is the ability to set a water temp for the water spout. I like an Americano with breakfast, and this really beats the boiler water I used to use

Decent vs La Marzocco Linea Micra (or Mini)

I've had a Decent for about 5 years now. No repairs or problems with one exception: I had a tablet problem so I replaced it. It probably would have been replaced by Decent, but I decided to upgrade to a Samsung instead. There are a lot of benefits for a home machine.

User Experience with the Strietman CT2

Thanks David for the videos. Especially the video showing a shot being pulled. Funny how hard it is to find a video like this, as everyone seems to focus on the portafilter during the shot!

    Odyssey Argos owner experience

cebseb, a really basic question. When Odysseys asks for left or right steam arm, is it looking at the machine? In other words, you ordered "Left." By the way, the new steam arm looks great

Another Decent DE1 here--and thinking about an Argos. Any thoughts comparing espresso from your two machines would be much appreciated

    Odyssey Argos owner experience

This has been a fun thread. I am really close to ordering one myself. About 20 years ago I had a Baby Lusso lever. As a complete rookie, I could not get used to it--I did not play with pressure changes, and thus it brewed really hot. Now I know a little more, and I have
