Fiorenzato Doge Conico jamming after switch from single dosing to hopper

I've never experienced jamming using the Macap hopper with my Doge Conico. This was one of the 1st-Line clearance models back from 2010. Mine is s/n: 0083. I've never used the 5-lb hopper sitting somewhere in the basement. Since late 2015, I switched to single-dosing and will never use that zit of a...

F is for PF clip, by god!

Workflow improvement?! Are you using LWW bean cellars, too? I'm doing this for zen / enjoyment, not for time or your silly approval

F is for PF clip, by god!

I keep the main PF locked into the machine to keep it warm. The second one I use to doser-whack grinds into the PF basket. I figured that much was clear but guess not. Any excuse to use 2 fine PF designs, but that was not the point of my post. Ditch your stupid PF clip

Skewed ratings on vendor websites (possible rant)

Thanks for reminding me exactly why I do absolutely ZERO business with EBay when humanly possible. What a joke! I'd rather smash my good thumb with a hammer than offer EBay any of my business

F is for PF clip, by god!

A senior member sniped me one day lamenting my use of PF retention clips especially considering that I am but a low-volume, home barista. Well, after finally ditching the PF clips (even the newest OEM ones don't work very well at this lowly job), I can see what the hell he was really really talking ...

First visit to Compass Coffee's new location

I knew I was forgetting something in my visit to Portland last week! Not only did I miss Compass Coffee but Nossa Familia as well. After visiting Stumptown*, heart @ 2211 E Burnside, and another random shop over the course of a single morning café crawl, I just got caught up in all other things Port...

Any roasters offering "free shipping" with no minimum purchase?

We just ordered another pound each of KENYA KABINGARA and ETHIOPIA BIFTU GUDINA from heart roasters. These guys are by far our favorite roaster in the Pacific NW region. Great value in every single-origin roast we have sampled since late summer 2015. I'm not out to pay the most possible per pound of...

Lyn Weber Steam Dial

I bought the Foam Knife about a month before the Steam Dial became available. I'm completely happy with my purchase since the Knife tamed the machine's steam boiler; I have no need for a 4-hole, stock tip...ever. I'd be really curious to see comparison testing of these 2 high-end steam tips

Cafelat silicone gasket update

Thanks for the handy reminder; I just ordered (3) E61 8mm rings directly from Cafelat. I'm excited to try them out and let my brand-new collection of 8; 8.5mm OEM arinca rings continue to stack dust
