Extraction Problems with Light Roasts
Much the same story here also. I just can't get a solid pull with light roasts at home (I also have a Vario). Spritzers, slight gushers, etc. Every once in a while I tempt fate by trying again but typically end up disappointed. I have used the same beans on commecial equipment with great results, ju...

I believe someone requested a picture of the inside of the machine, I took this when adjusting the position of the OPV so it better aligns with the access port. {image} I've been playing with different steam tips. My steaming skills are a bit lacking so I was looking to slow things down a bit. Pictu...

Appliance timer for espresso machine?
I had a unique timer requirement due to the side of my machine butting up against the outlet. I went with an outdoor timer that has ~6" pigtail allowing it to be neatly hidden behind my grinder. Bonus is that being outdoor rated it may be a good option for a potentially wet kitchen environment. The ...

Quick Mill Dual Boiler QM67
1 month review. Very pleased. Significant improvement in shot consistency over my PID'd Silvia, no sink shots yet. I am using the same Vario grinder and rotation of beans (currently Red Bird). I was never much of a milk drink person but my wife has now taken an interest and I am seeing good results ...

Quick Mill Dual Boiler QM67
I'm a week in with my QM67, wanted to share my thoughts on it. Pros: - First shot was very good, Vario settings from my Silvia translated over very well - There was really minimal learning curve, I was pulling great shots (IMHO) right away - Water filler door is very helpful, would be a major hassle...

Pat - thanks for the tip (on the tip). My machine is due to arrive today. I'll see how I do with the 2 hole tip but given the small amounts of milk I'm usually working with the 4 hole is probably in my near future
