Aliexpress Lever Machine

Thread on a similar machine "Jian Yi Lever espresso machine" This one has a heater. At the prices they go for, I'd get a Flair 58 instead as it's a known quantity. Randy

Reusable cups?

I switched from a normal ceramic coffee mug to a double walled metal cup for work. I like that this does a much better job keeping the coffee hot

The espresso journey begins...setup advice, please!

Search for "boilergate" before buying a Gaggia. In short, they added a coating to the boiler that can flake off. I wouldn't recommend a new gaggia until they really get this sorted out. Randy

Bean flow restrictor for DF64

Thanks for the status update. My grinder is supposed to arrive today, I'll play with it this weekend and see how it goes. Since I grind light to med light beans, and go for faster shots, maybe the stock grinder will work ok for a while until you publish your updated design. I also normally just make a

Bean flow restrictor for DF64

{link} treatstock is a network on 3d printers, so you have to pick one. Maybe I got lucky, but I liked the one I picked, he had high ratings and a good price. He's located in Lincoln Nebraska if you're looking. The stuff I'd be printing is mostly from Gary's grabcad files {link} {link} There's a

Bean flow restrictor for DF64

Since Dan reopened this thread, thought I would ask about the flow restrictor. There is a new to me Miicoffee DF64 with SSP MP burrs in the mail on its way to me. Planning to use for espresso for light/med light roasts. In the past, I used treatstock to order 3d printed parts for my gaggia classic

Crown Jewel Rwanda Gihombo Jarama Triple Washed

No idea about this bean, but one thing you could do to reduce the risk is offer some of it here: "Green Coffee Exchange" I'll buy from the exchange if it looks interesting. So keep how much you really want, and sell the rest

EHuky drum roaster - second try project

Its kind of hard to measure low resistances. I'd get an inexpensive watt meter like a kill a watt. Connect an AC cord to one heating element, plug into the watt meter and see how much power it draws. FYI, if you connect two elements in parallel, it will cut resistance in 1/2, and double the power.

Hand/Manual Grinder-Drill Turned

I think your drill stalls because its a corded drill. Corded drills typically like to run at higher RPMs, and are good at drilling holes (as they should be lol). Cordless drills typically have 2 speeds. The low speed is for use as an electric screwdriver, and in this mode the drill will have lots of...

Star Seeker Edge Plus 63mm Conical Grinder

If you want to play with a conical for around that price, look for a used Niche Zero. You see them come up for sale often enough these days for $500 or less. Even though its used, much safer choice, IMHO. Randy
