All, I have started my rebuild of my Andreja Premium. I bought it new in 09 from Chris Coffee. So it's due for a teardown and cleaning. I have a little more time on my hands now.... So I have everything apart and the boiler out, but I'm having troubler with the bottom HX element

My experiences with pressure and brewing

I'm going through this with my machine, an andreja premium. I was not happy guessing at the temp, so I bought a scace2 gauge. It's expensive but worth it. I was not really thinking of the brew pressure at the puck until I got the scace2. And vibe pump pressure has always been in my head

Bought Scace 2 thermofilter - need help interpreting results

I was able to get the dispersion screw out. Not that dirty and nothing clogged. I also replaced the boiler pressure line, it was clogged at the OPV valve. So now I have better pressure readings on the the machine. Still working on the flush cycle but it's at least a 3 oz flush to get

Bought Scace 2 thermofilter - need help interpreting results

The grouphead is very clean. Spent the day running cafe cleaner stuff through it. Shower screen I clean at least once a week. One thing I've noticed is that the dispersion screw is a little uneven. I'm not sure if there are openings all around the dispersion screw. I've debated removing it and clean...

Bought Scace 2 thermofilter - need help interpreting results

Well, I think I may have the pressure stat set a little too low. someone earlier said 1.2 bar. I do have eric's thermometer and have had it from day 1. I'm going to watch that more closely. I thought with the scace2 it would have a more narrow temp spread, but it's not. With the

Bought Scace 2 thermofilter - need help interpreting results

I get the flush routine, but i'm trying to understand why the bottom is falling out of the temp when I brew. If I bring the temp down from 210 to 202 about 3oz of water and let the machine cycle a couple of times - about 1 minute, run the shot. The pressure stat is at

Bought Scace 2 thermofilter - need help interpreting results

It's time to start keeping better records and documenting the flush routine. I am using a recently calibrated / certified fluke 54 II B. I'm trying to avoid overdoing the flush cycle but I still think i'm brewing a little too hot. I have set the OPV pressure and it shows 12 bar

Bought Scace 2 thermofilter - need help interpreting results

I have an andreaja premium, about 4 years old. I've been having some issues with it and finally bought a scace2 to help figure it out. The other thing is I wanted a good view of the the HX flush cycle. The thermometer in the cup wasn't working. What I found is that if

Single Origins: Roast Level and Espresso Quality

Jim, Where would you put the Colombian and Rwanda SO's. Are they in the friendlier category? I was planning on trying some of the SO's from intelligentsia. Thanks, Jim
