Reinstalling the bottom burr carrier (Macap M4)

I screwed the top burr down tight enough to bind both the bottom carrier and the shaft, then snugged the stop nut. Coffee gods forgive me; if there was a gentler way, I could not see it

Reinstalling the bottom burr carrier (Macap M4)

Hi all, I wanted to add to this topic {link} but it was closed. I'm just finishing up my burr replacements on the M4, and the stop nut that holds the bottom burr carrier won't snug down. It's spinning the shaft. How do I bind it while tightening? I can jam up the carrier, but it

Macap M4 or comparable step pin and spring

Does anyone who converted to stepless still have their pin and spring for stepping? I'm not crazy about the worm drive, and I don't want to take it on and off while I get this grinder working correctly. If someone has a stepped pin and spring available for sale or gift, I'd be grateful. {image}

Pour looks good but tastes terrible. What am I doing wrong?

Nobody questioned the Rocky grinder. I guess I'll leave that alone until all the other avenues have been explored

Critique My Pull! Quickmill Anita

Based on other videos, comments, and my own observation, you can usually count on the cone in the middle to tell the tale. In the middle of the shot, the cone is wide and extends downward. When it shrinks and collapses up to the bottom of the PF, you want to shut it down. This is harder to

Absolutely cheapest decent espresso machine (w/steam) & grinder combo for 2nd set-up

Curious since I don't know -- is it common for RVs to have outlets capable of sustained 15-20A current delivery? +1 on the SL70 if you can find one used still. That was the machine I learned on, and I found it quite capable. I stole it with a Maestro grinder for $120 and still use the grinder

Indian Peaberry coffee at Trader Joes

I have had some nice drips / presses / moka pots from Trader Joe's coffees. They definitely don't put roast dates on the cans - it's clear that they're roasted and vac-packed somewhere far away in place and time. But I have never had anything too stale for pour over techniques. Lots of interesting c...

Ethiopian Nekisse Espresso @ Fonte: Wow!

One thing I've had from Fonte that I crave is their drip blend served at Portage Bay Cafe. Every time I go there, I remark about how the coffee's good, then I remember that it's special. I can't speak to what else they do right or wrong via roast, but their custom drip blend served at Portage Bay is a

New Baratza Grinder: Virtuoso Preciso $275

Is anyone currently claiming to pull shots with a Virtuoso? I was not under the impression that it would get fine enough for prime time. I tried one for 30 minutes when I had a Silvia and got nothing but gushers. Found a used Mazzer on CL the next day to replace it. That said, I love the
