Synesso Prototype debuting at SCAA

I sat with a Slayer for a bit that was being tested alongside a Strada - the Slayer is definitely a good espresso machine in 1.0 version. You wouldn't want to buy it as is... tons of issues. This synesso looks great - a definite step up, and definitely going to be more reliable than the

Suggestions for Pasquini Moka "stepless" grinder

I have a Pasquini Moka grinder that is marketed as a "stepless" grinder, when in fact the pin that holds the grind setting in place does so by locking into stepped holes. I thought, no biggie, I'll just put the pin in between the two and run it. The things vibrates so bad it always ends

How many espressos do you prepare each day?

I keep dropping down the milk content and upping the shots. With milk, whole milk is the only way to go, and you get fat drinking lattes. Machiattos are a great way to enjoy a shot in some milk without having to worry about growing love handles I'm having between 3 and 4

Gaggia Achille brew temperature too low

Here's a question: mine came stock with a deadband of .95-1.15. I upped it to 1.05-1.25 to be more in line with what other people were doing, but it seems today like the cooling flushes could go for eternity. So I decided to try different time intervals after the cooling flush and give another pull to

Gaggia Achille brew temperature too low

Ya I agree. I'm planning on a new grinder asap, the wife is still not behind the 720 I paid for the achille, so... The grind is generally consistent, but temperature and pressure changes in the atmosphere effect what that perfect grind is, and unfortunately, the clicks on this thing are much larger ...

Gaggia Achille brew temperature too low

I wasn't choking my machine and pulling shots fine all with the same grind setting. Give me a little credit, I could figure that one out. Sour shots are a sign of low temperature, not high. If it was high, I would have burnt tasting espresso. At least that is what I read
