Not your average set up, some may call it a mismatch, I call it match made in heaven
Im a huge fan of the Major, if you get used to how the adjusment collar needs to be adjusted, there is almost no need for anything else. The retention is near zero, and the cup quality is tip top. What I did, was take 3-4 different color sharpies, and color in the notches in the most

Best grinder and espresso machine for... $400 budget?
Ive been using the Flair Classic for the last few months while I ponder an upgrade. My listed equipment is back in NY. Defintely a solid choice. If I was buying one right now, Id want the 58 to be honest, but in the model lineup of the regular flair models, the Pro 2 is the way

How safe is it to leave an espresso machine on unattended?
My machines have been on for the past 12 or so years/ Basically they get turned off for working on them, or leaving for a longer period. ..not exactly proud of it, but i forgot to turn off the Duetto before a week long vacation one time. It was fine, just ran out of water and powered

Post a pic of your home espresso setup...
Mind if I ask what inspired the switch? It's very impressive that the Elizabeth is providing a better more consistent experience than the V2b did. It's one of those, wouldn't make sense on paper kind of things, but clearly in actuality, you've seen the success. Just makes me curious is all

New to espresso and every single one is sour
Ian, thanks for reminding me, Ill remove the link. Sadly, Covid killed the business. also Id agree, overdosed doesnt neccesarily mean anything today. I also like to use Synesso baskets, I call it the big double basket. Its like a triple, but not straight walled.. In the Duetto I can pack 22grams no ...

New to espresso and every single one is sour
personally knowing the specific coffee youre using would help, but, yes, try higher. I honestly dont touch my PID all that much, it kinda just sits at 202. But I drink a lot of comfort food espresso blends, which end of the day all pull similarly. I do go up to 203/204 for Vivace Dolce, thats

New to espresso and every single one is sour
The coffees you listed using, in my opinion, don't exactly seem to be what you want to be using. Starbucks and Costco, no. Now, are there some specialty grocery stores out there capable of putting out a decent espresso blend, and sell it fresh? Yes, but it's not common. Do yourself a favor and take ...

Verve Coffees - Recommend for espresso/latte
Heres a question- Onyx Monarch. Felt like you were drinking hot chocolate? Really? Im so intrigued. Would you say, its absolutely the most chocolaty espresso ever? Reason being is, I love me some proper chocolate bomb espresso. Ive yet to try Onyx, but they look impressive enough on paper. Maybe too...

Supermarket coffees better than the roaster's store
I run into a similar situation with a particular blend, from a particular local roaster. The crux of this issue, is monsooned Malabar. One of those unique coffees that comes into its own almost STARTING at the two week mark. It makes up a fair portion of one of their espresso blends, so if you get it
