Identifying machine and troubleshooting

Another factor that commonly causes too fast a flow through the basket is old, stale coffee. I'm not saying that your grinder is optimal, but if your coffee is too stale you won't get enough resistance to pull a good shot. If the water is just flowing through the basket and not flowing around it or ...

Next Level Pulsar Brewer

This reminds me of Nick Cho's Zero Pour technique where he would get the gooseneck for the kettle right above the bed and pour to minimize turbulence for an even extraction. He hosted a Kalita event years ago at the original Wrecking Ball location in the old firehouse with a talk on coffee and talke...

I recently purchased this scale for my Robot that is small enough to fit between the legs. The cover needed trimming to fit. I don't remember using a scale with the La Peppina. I'll have to try this scale to see how well it fits for vertical clearance with a cup. Coffee Scale with Timer, 0.1g... {li...

Troubleshooting la Peppina double basket fit

Orphan Espresso used to have 45 mm dosing funnels, I have one, but you can still get a small one there which is 43.5 which should fit the La Peppina and the even smaller Caravel filters. I picked up mine long before 3D printing was an option. {link} You could search for 45 mm dosing funnels, print one

Troubleshooting la Peppina double basket fit

The La Peppina favors clarity over body with the unassisted lever action. You want a good flow for best crema, which may counterintuitively mean coarsening the grinds slightly. If the flow is to restricted you'll get more of a coffee-like shot. It'll come with practice. Using the single basket may g...
