Replacing the gaskets in the piston of Olympia Cremina
Oh, I understood that you said you had to hold the machine down with a finger-sorry for my confusion. If you have to hold it down, there is something seriously wrong with the fit! While you are doing full disclosure, you should point out that Viton is NOT RECOMMENDED for steam or hot water! Here, fo...

Replacing the gaskets in the piston of Olympia Cremina
From the Orphan Espresso Site: For those of us who actually know about the Cremina, having to hold down the machine while lifting the lever is an indication we need to service the machine. It is truly amazing that this vendor claims this to be a design innovation

EBay Olympia Cremina record?
The seller clearly tells the story. This was a very minor repair and service at Olympia. He includes the actual bill which confirms this. This was not an overhaul. All that was done was change the switch, boiler cap seal, safety valve seal, steam tap seal, knob and steam wand. The bill also clearly ...

Solution to an overheating Cremina (or, lazy and forgetful Cremina owner)
Matt We as a group are enamored of lever machines. They celebrate getting back to basics and making the user totally immersed in the process. The Cremina exemplifies this form follows function simplicity. Indeed, it is the pinnacle of manual lever machines. The machine is designed for extreme qualit...

Solution to an overheating Cremina (or, lazy and forgetful Cremina owner)

Solution to an overheating Cremina (or, lazy and forgetful Cremina owner)
Ridiculous! If you really cannot deal with this, then buy yourself a kitchen timer and set it for ten minutes

Converting Olympia Cremina from 220v to 110v
You have several options here as mentioned. Using a transformer is certainly an option, but you will need one rated for at least 1000 watts which will be relatively big and heavy. You will not be able to use any small inexpensive low power electronic converters. Wiring an outlet for 220 is also a vi...

Olympia Cafferex back in action! (and questions)
Even better, order it from 1st Line before they figure it out! Olympia prices were always in CHF, which is stated on the order page. The currency conversion tool is clearly not up to date, but it is only there for convenience anyway

Olympia Express is out of business?
Jon I will leave describing the shots to those with more sophisticated palates than mine. The new group uses a shower screen held by the portafilter gasket instead of snapping on the end of the cylinder. The shower extends slightly futher into the basket resulting in slightly less headroom. For thos...

Olympia Express is out of business?
Dan I find the quality in the cup equal or better than the Cremina 67. The new group requires a little different technique and the 2002 is slightly less forgiving than the C67. I cannot speak for Steve, but from my own experience, it is very important to tune your technique to the 2002 as opposed to...
