Cimbali Junior D1 - it took 11 years...

Very interesting. I checked my plunger out and there is no silicone seal on it at all, which I guess is the likely problem. Instead I see a shiny hard surface that is recessed about 0.5mm and seems to be somewhat spring mounted so that it will recess a bit further when pressure is applied - maybe a

Cimbali Junior D1 - it took 11 years...

My wife has me exiled to the laundry room with my equipment but she sure enjoyed her cappuccino this morning. I'm plumbed in to the laundry room on an extra garden faucet style tap that was handy. I'm using a pressure reducing valve to keep the water pressure about where I want it and over the years...

Rocket Appartamento very slow heat up

I'd remove the heating element from the boiler and check it's condition. Your situation sounds a lot like a dead or dying heating element. Has the boiler ever been low on water while the machine's turned on? Worth a shot

Cimbali Junior D1 - it took 11 years...

So 11 years ago I made my first post about my old school la Cimbali Junior D1. It had a bad gicar box (autofill circuit didn't work on it). As a result of that it also had a fried boiler element. After fixing those I was pleased to be pulling shots from what is possibly the best

La Pavoni Europiccola heating element burned. Alternatives?

You've posted a link to the 230v part - is your machine 230 (or 220 or 240) volt? Or are you looking for this part: {link} As to power consumption, that shouldn't change with 800 or 1000 watt elements. The 1000 watt will heat up to temperature a bit faster and then turn off

La Cimbali Jr S/1 doser/pump issue

If the machine is getting power, then the likely culprits are as follows in no particular order: With power unplugged and water turned off: - doser tank isn't full. Check and report back to this thread - the wiring to the knobs for selecting doses or the button to press to start (check wiring to mak...

Repairing Cimbali Junior D1 - heating element seems burned, missing safety thermostat?

I'm not sure if you are still following this thread, but I'd add that you'll want to check the boiler to see what the scale situation is inside it and descale if needed (if it's needed, you'll probably want to descale the heat exchanger and brew path too. I started with a machine that didn't really ...

I'm new. I don't know where to begin.

As you can see from the varied answers on there, there are almost as many answers as there are those who answer. I'm going to further muddy the waters by saying that there are HX machines that are more beginner friendly (like my own beloved la Cimbali Junior). See? Yet another take. The big problem,...

Repairing Cimbali Junior D1 - heating element seems burned, missing safety thermostat?

My Junior D is similar vintage. The heating element ends up being your circuit breaker in the end if you don't have a thermostat (klixon), almost always caused by boiler water level being too low (ask me how I figured that out) The parts manual I have (I think I originally got it from either civ or ...
