All this talk about 'burr alignment' and 'tolerances'
WOW! That shows an amazing attitude towards any sort of serious understanding of the issue - or logical thought. If we truly want to know if it makes any difference then we have to take a scientific approach rather than making the sort of wild assumptions you choose to. The scientific approach would...

All this talk about 'burr alignment' and 'tolerances'
The elephant in the room is any sort of quantification of the effect of alignment. Until we see statistically significant, blind tasting tests across a range of grinders with varying alignment, the claims are basically without any meaningful basis

Best engineered grinders?
HG-1 would be the best engineered and designed grinder I have used for the home barista. I used a Versalab for a while, and that impressed too. Havent seen an EG-1 in the flesh, but I imagine its in the group too

Bigger spring levers capable of "normal" milk drinks?
...or 55mm Lever Groups like the Izzo. I am not sure where the idea about less body comes from, completely contrary to my experience with commercial levers! No doubt they are very capable of 'normal' milk drinks, most people who have ever tried one of mine rave about it as one of the best coffees th...

RoastLogger website has moved
I dont think so, its working just as Apple intend. I am guessing its got even more difficult to resolve with Sierra, although I havent upgraded my roasting laptop to the developer release so not sure. The effect on things like RoastLogger are an unintended consequence of Apples desire to maintain th...

Aeropress - better with paper or metal filters? A practical test.
Was the tasting blind? (not that it would be statistically significant with such a tiny sample.) Would be interesting if someone did the same experiment with blind tasting and a sufficiently large sample so as to be meaningful. I use the steel type whenever I use the Aeropress because its less messy...
