What's too fast at ramp points from 300f to 1st crack

This is very timely information! I had a conversation this afternoon with another home roaster about this very subject. I recently roasted two coffees (Rwandan and Colombian) on my P1 using 23f/min from 300 to 280 F. I felt both coffees were too flat and not dynamic enough. I was wondering how fast ...

Buyer's Guide to the Expobar Brewtus III

Ian, What size holes are in the tips you are using? On my B1, the single hole is around 1.4 mm (1.54 MM^2). I also have a gold pro tip that comes with two 1.0 mm holes (1.57 mm^2). I drilled an additional 1.0 mm between them for a total area of 2.36 mm^2.

Beware of the Doghouse

This is really funny! I think we have all teetered on the edge of this one. A number of years ago, my old boss gave his girl friend a set of snow tires for Christmas. He never understood why she ran out of the room crying

Brewtus II vs Andreja Premium vs Giotto Premium

Rybolt, You might want to look over at the Google Brewtus group for owners issues and comments. None of these espresso machines are perfect. All have strengths and weaknesses. I agree with earlier posters that the HB detailed reviews provide an excellent overview of the machines. The Brewtus uses ba...

Expobar Brewtus thermoprobe replacement

Mark, You may be able to get a thin hooked tool past the thermistor and then see if you can pull it out. I remember the thermistor in my Brewtus 1 was smaller in diameter than the well. Good luck

Rotary Conversion, Expobar Brewtus

Not to be a fly in the ointment, but: A rotary pumps water debit is a heck of a lot higher than the 41 w Ulka that comes in the E-61 Boxes. The pressure rise on the Brewtus and other E-61 machines with the Ulka pump and preinfusion spring is relatively slow compared to an LM or A3
