La Pavoni P/TRE restoration

I've pulled the boiler out and apart, and it appears to be in good shape. I don't see any damage around the HX tubes. The metal clasps are toast, and they are aluminum anyway so I won't be welding them. Is there a source for used parts for La Pavoni's anywhere?

La Pavoni P/TRE restoration

I recently started a restoration on a La Pavoni P/TRE 2 group 110v unit. While it is large, it is 110v, and has an internal pump. When I received it, it appeared to be in pretty decent shape. Missing a few small parts (including the portafilters) but nothing major that would make it unrestorable fro...

Newbie - plunge or not - used Reneka Viva

If you have the room for it, it is a great machine. Is it functional or has it been sitting? If it has been sitting, plan on taking out the boiler and lines and giving them all a citric acid bath. The machine is very easy to work on, lots of room and good access.

Restoring my new Pasquini

nice buy for $100, especially if you can get 220v to it. I'd start by cleaning all the copper/brass in citric acid. Make sure the pump is free. Yes, the gauge is broken. Good luck! Looks like an easy machine to work on

Pump pressure on Reneka Viva

Good recommendation to replace the pump, or at least get ready to replace it. The machine sat for 3 years before we got it, so I'm sure the years of inactivity were not kind to it. With about 12 people using this machine daily it will probably go sooner than later. Jason, you hit the nail on

Pump pressure on Reneka Viva

David, I tended to agree with you that the pump was not operating properly, so I went ahead and pulled the pump. On a side note, this Reneka is so easy to work on. Pulled the pump and figured out why it was so "quiet" when it ran. It was quiet because it was not spinning.

Pump pressure on Reneka Viva

Hi all. Been lingering on this site for a while, and I am amazed by the quality and depth of some of the posts. We recently purchased a used Reneka Viva I for use at work. The machine sat for a while, and we disassembled and gave it a bath in citric acid. The machine works
