Brugnetti Aurora Lever 2 group restoration

A mod that is done here to the Aurora is to fit a Gaggia spring for more oomph. One end needs to be ground so it fits into the groove on the head, but I found it to be too long so I had it shortened the end closed and the spring retempered at a local spring works, It works

Brugnetti Aurora Lever 2 group restoration

Nice looking Aurora you have there. I fixed up a single group a couple of years ago and I'm quite happy with it. The broken sight glass is not a problem they are available. The group mechanism looks to be in good condition with no rust on the spring. If dismantling, the spring has to be compressed b...

Bosco pressurestat and flushing routine question

I was doing all sorts of stuff, setting the pstat up, down all over the place, pulling blanks through a old puck, tried everything, it's only after having the brew temp checked by a tech experienced with levers and a flushing routine worked out by him that things fell into place

Bosco pressurestat and flushing routine question

I do something similar with the Aurora. I had it checked with a scace and the tech came up with a flushing routine to warm the group. He drilled a .3 mil hole in a blind filter and I pull a couple of shots through that to warm up the group, I have a temp strip on the group which

Brugnetti Aurora Rebirth

Brugnetti Aurora Rebirth

I may have been done as a means of dealing with the HX pressure build up and also a group which runs on the cool side, my Aurora has a cold nose requiring the group temp to be pumped up

Brugnetti Aurora Rebirth

Very unusual piping, I wondered about it when I saw it on the auction site. The mains water feed to the HX is disconnected instead boiler water is piped to the HX inlet, I suspect it would work like a dipper model. It also looks like the pressurestat is plumbed into the steam tap piping

Aurora Europa needs service

Be careful not to force it, if it all sldes up out of the bore I'm thinking the rod might be gummed up in the head, the spring may need to be compressed to unscrew the piston & dismantle it all, if unsure how to do it safely best get someone who can
