Dark roasted coffee and crema - any relation?

This is one example of why I think it's not the best technique to solely judge a shot by its pour. You really don't get the whole picture. As long as it isn't obviously flawed, taste it. I think too many people dump potentially tasty shots because it doesn't look like the videos

Creating the MVP Espresso Blend

A barrage of questions: How did it taste in your latte? How much milk? What did you think of the coffee's presence in the latte? What happened to the flavors between the espresso and the latte? Creating the MVP Espresso Blend

MVP Espresso version one has been designed, roasted, shipped, and maybe already received(?). The primary goal is a super chocolaty, sweet espresso. We roasted it just to the beginning of second crack. The world of home baristas (and us) await sweaner's feedback

How long do you allow your espresso to sit before adding milk?

By saying that the "shot turned black," do you mean the crema had fully dissipated? That's not good. What was going on in the meantime while it sat? I think, however, to say that the shot is bad within 10 seconds is a bit overboard. Certainly, the integrity of the crema and the temperature diminish ...
