1995 La Pavoni Europiccola - bitter, acidic shots

Wow, hypochondriac much?. Lead poisoning is a long process, highly unlikely you poisoned yourself with a few shots....unless you have an all lead boiler and you water has super low PH and all you drink is espresso. Keep working with different beans/grind/tamp/temp. Just because a bean works for your...

Is it possible with a La Pavoni to get a good pull?

Getting beans that you like is a big part of getting the shot that pleases you. I'm surprised the SB is decent, but the info in what you like (chocolate/caramel etc) indicates you are unlikely to enjoy boutique beans as most these days seem to push florals/citrus in their roasts. I'm sure some don't...

220v american to run 230v european ?

Lots of kitchens in Canada and the US have 220-240 for the stove /possibly a laundry dryer. Problem is they are usually 40-50 amps service for stove 30 for dryer. That is way too much for the Pavoni cord or an extension (unless sized properly and the cord would be hûge). If you have a 220-240

Replaced grinder burrs, but won't grind fine enough

It would be easy to fabricate a simple puller using some bar stock and bolts. Most puller situations don't have a handy edge a few inches above. Easy pull. Btw the fact that it is jammed in after just being installed could be because it is in a little crooked, when you spin it does it undulate?

Bezzera BZ10 boiler screws broke

Depends on your skill set. I could drill out / tap etc those bolts and reassemble everything in a couple of hours. 650 seems a little steep even with 100 element

Olympia Cremina--up in smoke!!

Great points, especially the GFCI outlet. Many jurisdictions spec., gfci for the kitchen outlets, and those that don't, should. Unfortunately a gfci won't necessarily stop a coffee machine from going up in flames, a resistance short to neutral will not necessarily trip a gfci/ though the same to gro...

Olympia Cremina--up in smoke!!

Bit alarmist closing down a thread. The whole point of forums is to share knowledge and experience. The repair forum is full of people comfortably wiring and Re wiring machines. Anyone playing with electrical connections/opening up panels and covers risks electrocution, and many Appliance's state as...

6.8mm diameter stainless wire availablity for Conti Empress spring

The stiffness of the spring is not just a product of the wire thickness, but also of the wire hardness. The old spring lever machines had none plated steel springs so that is another way to go, although I get wanting stainless so that you can forget about spring corrosion. You mention that the lengt...

How I snuck a 2 group lever into a residential kitchen.

Good point. I'm 6'2" and have disproportionately long arms so it works for me, in fact I had never even considered it might be hard for others....I'll ask my wife,...she says no problem. On contemplation the pull on a lever is not straight up/down but an arc. A significant amount of the motion/resis...
