Pressurestat failure?

Vibiemme Junior HX with Jaeger pstat. Big pressure release sound in my kitchen this afternoon, definitely sounded like the pressure release valve, steam coming out all over and steamed up the gauges. No water as far as I can tell. Walked over to the kitchen and see my pressure up over 2 bar and heat...

E61 pour has long delay, then gushing

Actually those burrs look a bit beat up to me. While they may seem reasonably sharp to you by themselves, compared to a new set you will likely find that these are quite dull. If you do pick up a used Mazzer, my advice would be to also replace the burrs immediately. No point wasting more time diagno...

Now I could barely get there with the Rocky and one notch adjustment went from passable to gusher. My burrs were very dull, complet...

Finally mastering Vibiemme Domobar Junior HX

I received my VBM Junior HX exactly two months ago and I have finally mastered extraction, microfoaming and pouring a latte art. There is no substitute for lots and lots of practice on all fronts! A beautiful rosetta last night and a heart this morning. My previous machine was an (ahem) Estro Profi ...

53mm non pressurized filter baskets?

I purchased a Solis NP portafilter and baskets directly from the US Solis distributer {link}. They were extremely helpful, even checking that the Solis portafilter fit on a Saeco machine (same block as my Estro Vapore) and calling me back with the answer. I believe that they are the same entity as C...

Minimum left side clearance for these espresso machines?

I am well along the way in laying plans for a significant machine upgrade and am leaning strongly towards the entry level HX class machines. Footprint is a real constraint for us and the ideal location for a machine in my kitchen is on the left side of a counter against a flush wall. All of these ma...
