Why would he get them up to temperature when the machine is off? I'm sure he pulls'em out when he turns on the machine ;P

Advanced sorting/culling coffee beans

I've started to hand sort my beans pre-roast. Usually I only cull 10%, today however I took out 18% of the greens - oh, and I found a ROCK :( I like to believe that I can taste the difference in the cup, not because of the missing rocks, but some of the beans I remove are disgusting looking, I

Wow, a couple of days ago I roasted 40% brazil, 30% monsooned malabar, 20% harrar and 10% kenya - so close ;P It's very good!

Help with espresso blending from a few sorts

Just a short update - I finished off my own blend, which was a bit too bright. It was good, but bright, and didn't cut very much through milk. It was "ok" for espresso. I am half-way through Jeffos blend - It's very delicious! Both as espresso and in milk! I finished off the Kenya as press pot

Thanks for the inputs! Much appreciated. I tried my rasting own above right after I wrote it - I tried to go for dark, but it was a bit difficult as there are some pretty small beans and some large ones ;P Both of your suggestions sound enticing - I'll try them!
