Believe it or not the black ring is indeed a dried out well cooked o ring. it will come out with a pick tool or any pointy tool. It is likely buna rubber and not silicone, which does not bake flat

In 2017 at the WOC in Budapest a young fresh faced German named Malte appeared at our booth and pitched his idea for a book about obscure creatives of coffee. During the usual chaos of a busy trade fair we mostly forgot about or even dismissed the idea as a pipe dream. We are truly humbled to be
