Intelligentsia no longer ships via UPS to Canada
thanks guys, actually if you order air freight, the brokerage fee is included in the shipping fee with UPS. and it's fast that way. Hidden brokerage charges piss me off as well, so usually i don't like UPS from the States, but for coffee it's OK. For better or worse, I order a larger order and

Intelligentsia no longer ships via UPS to Canada
The last shipment from Intelligentsia took 8 days to arrive. They now only ship via USPS. They used to ship with UPS which arrived within 2 days. The coffee was already past it's prime. I wonder why they made that decision. Is it because they's like me to buy coffee from an authorized canadian

Behmor 1600 coffee roaster - group taste test

I will eventually get into home roasting, but first I want to get a really good baseline with my Brewtus. I'm using a premium quality roaster's ...

ECM Giotto vs. Expobar Brewtus II
well, I think there is one major difference. basically you need to temp surf with an HX machine, making things more difficult. I wanted a machine that was simple to use but still able to get superior product. The brewtus is so simple to use that I think my wife could use it. Simple

Leaving coffee beans in hopper
Before I read this thred I was certain that everyone dosed / shot, only because of laziness did people use the hopper. I don't think that any more . I filled up my Macap with 60g of beans, ground 2 g to get it going, cleaned out the doser and the chute. I

Seemed like a good idea at the time...
Wow that story.......... Reminds me of a lady that we took to the hospital (as a paramedic). She was rendering about 15lbs of pork belly and was just finished when she tried to take the large pot off her stove when she slipped. She burned all her skin off from her breast to well below her crotch.

When did this espresso extraction go blond? [video quiz]
Hmm, I voted F, but had I been pulling the shot I would have stayed with it until the end of G. This looked a lot like the best ever effort of mine. Which incidentally was today. It made a really good cappa. I hope to pull shots like this on a consistent basis

Is your espresso habit unhealthy?
Ok , It's not as bad as I made it out to be. I am actually very surprised at how much I'm able to tolerate caffeine now. I can drink 3-4 doubles and not really getting bothered by it. Before I'd drink a cup o'joe and get the shakes. Somehow I can't bring myself to drink
