How do I turn down the steam boiler pressure?
You would need to adjust pressurestat (marked on your photo). If yellow thing is not a screw it's possible that you will need to take a cap off to adjust it. {image} Zarko

Opinions of built-in espresso machines like Miele, Bosch, Thermador and Dacor
I've had a chance to drink a coffee from Miele built-in "espresso machine". Machine was not plumbed it was just built in. You need to add water manually like with any other super automatic machine. Do you adjust grind from double to single espressos?
Yes it's 50% reduction. Single is too small for me to make on regular basis but it's a good thing to make when you want to experiment. Otherwise you end up with lots of wasted coffee or too much caffeine in the system :D
