EspressoForge vs. La Pavoni Europiccola
Comparing Apples and Oranges! I have an EspressoForge. I have had a La Pavoni Europiccola. I learned how to pull shots on a lever machine with a La Pavoni. One of the things I really like about the EspressoForge that hasn't been mentioned is the myriad of basket options in 58mm. In the EspressoForge...

US Roaster Sample Roaster
Nate Nice setup. I have had mine for 10 years now. Keep the exhaust fan clean. I have one of the first ones made and it just keeps making awesome coffee. You are going to love your machine. Repeatability is so easily. They are built like a tank and customer service is great. Les

Best espresso machine for around $1500 USD budget?
Zak, I agree 100% will Bill's post. I had an Office Control and it meets all of your requirements. It was a great machine and it is very forgiving. It now lives in an office environment. They have had now problems with it for 8 years. It is easy to keep clean and would work

Need advice on a new scale
The main grinder we were using was the Baratza Forte. We also used a Peak Single Espresso grinder by Mahlkonig. To be real honest, I wish I had been paying more attention to the grinders. I was there to demonstrate my product. (I hope I can say that without getting into trouble with Dan.) Having

Need advice on a new scale
Thanks for the recommendation. I got my scale yesterday and shots have improved dramatically this morning. I am pulling a fussy S.O. Sumatran this morning. I got a nice mouse tail and great crema. The shot was complex earthy with just a touch of fruitiness. Just the way I like it. Les

Upgrading to HX or double boiler espresso machine, budget $1000 CAD
Great post Randy. I couldn't agree more. I have been at this for 21 years. I have made 3 great scores in those years a Mazzer Major for $ 50.00 at the Salvation Army, an Expobar Office Control for half price that had been used only 3 times and an Olympia Cremina from an estate that was

Upgrading to HX or double boiler espresso machine, budget $1000 CAD
So Randy what new machine would you recommend in that price range? I had a Silvia for a long time too. I even PIDed one, and learned how unstable it really is! That said $1,000 CAD is a very limited budget for a machine that he wants to last for 10 years with only basic maintenance.

Evaluate my burrs, please
Tom, I agree 100% That is why I have a $7,500.00 roaster and I only buy green beans that have been evaluated by an expert cupper. I have attended 3 roasting classes in three different states to become a good roaster. I don't trust my coffee experience to others. That said, I will buy good roasted
