Caffe Fresco Flossie's Blend

I've been pulling Flossies for the past couple of weeks. It's a great blend, and at the moment, I am enjoying more than Ambrosia. The flavor of Flossies seems more complex. I'm not good at naming flavors, but to me it has a sweet-nutty taste and also an earthy/spicy taste (maybe from the Papua New G...

How was your morning coffee today?

A delicious Americano made with Caffe Fresco's Ambrosia. Mottled crema with a reddish color covered the top. I usually have straight shots or caps, but I've discovered Ambrosia is good for Americanos, too. It's a little spicy but still smooth

Initial Observations of the Macap M4 Grinder

Design and Appearance - I worked with my wife to decide which grinder to buy. (Truthfully, I was just glad to have her on board with what seemed to her like a ridiculous amount of money to spend on grinder!) All three grinders are nice looking: the Mazzer looks industrial and solid; the Compak has a...

Initial Observations of the Macap M4 Grinder

The following thread contains some initial observations and experiences with a new Macap M4 grinder. It covers the purchase experience, delivery, design and appearance, doser action, and dialing in of the grinder. It is not an expert's opinion, just one home barista's experience. I just bought the M...

SCAA WBC barista bar espresso cups

Hi Rob! I'm sorry I missed you at the WBC. We may have crossed paths and not even known it. I remember one of the announcers thanking ACF for providing the espresso cups for the WBC bar, but I don't remember the exact shape of them. I searched and found this link: {link} Are these the

Update from SCAA 2009 in Atlanta

OK, so here's an update from Saturday at the SCAA 2009 in Atlanta. This was the third day of the WBC, and my wife and I watched the baristas of Norway, Sweden, Poland, and Austria all perform for the judges. Each did a great job and made me want to visit their countries and cafes. Today, the
